3. Martin Creek Lake State Park

Half an hour away in Tatum, Martin Creek Lake State Park, 9515 County Road 2181D, is an excellent place to catch catfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass. You’ll find a vast bounty of fish in this tranquil lake, plus plenty of trails perfect for hiking and biking. Martin Creek Lake State Park is also one of the best places in the entire state to catch a phenomenal sunset.    

4. Lake Hawkins 

Lake Hawkins, at 156 County Road 3455, less than an hour away from Kilgore, is an excellent place to try catching pickerel, crappie, sunfish, and largemouth bass. There are also plenty of things to do at the lake, including camping, and swimming. You’ll find lots of amenities, an abundant variety of fish, and a full day of fun in the sun at this favorite Texan destination.
